In 2020, we were fortunate enough to be able to fly out and do a road trip after things started to open up. Zion NP was the first location that we went to on this trip. I immediately fell in love with this National Park. I don’t know when but I will go back and spend more time!
Bryce NP was the second stop on our 2020 road trip. We both loved hiking the Navaho Loop Trail. But we have both agreed to go back and hike more! The sunrise picture is a story in itself! We got up very early, found a parking spot and then wrapped ourselves into a cocoon to keep warm while we waited for the sun to come up. It didn’t disappoint!
The 5th destination on this trip was to Yellowstone National Park. The roads here form a gigantic figure 8, the right side of this 8 holds the waterfalls and lake. The lower left side has Old Faithful and all the hot springs. The upper top of the 8 is where ou might catch a glimpse of the wolves, bison and other wildlife.
One of my favorite national parks has to go to Glacier NP! The magnitude and the mountain beauty is hard to put into words. The park is huge with several ways into the interior from both the US and from Canada. But there’s only one ‘Going to the Sun Road.” It’s truly spectacular!
The ‘Going to the Sun Road” starts at West Glacier and winds through the park to St Mary’s. St Mary’s town is very small and geared towards campers but the lake and waterfall are very beautiful. Even with the remnants of a previous forest fire, the stark contrast, is very striking!
One of my son’s favorite places to visit is Boston. So we walked around the Quincy market, did a little shopping, went to the Green Dragon Tavern and he got to play in the playground right around the corner.
